Back in July, we mentioned that something new was coming.

Well, here it is.

Meet The D&H Cradle — our new step-in harness, handmade from beautifully soft European leather and designed with comfort, movement and beautiful coats in mind.

The idea behind The Cradle was surprisingly simple. Many conventional harnesses use broad panels and webbing that place a lot of material against the dog's body and coat. We wondered whether we could do things differently.

The result is a harness built around two softly rolled leather cradle straps, designed to minimise contact and friction against the coat while allowing the shoulders to move naturally.

And because putting a harness on a dog really shouldn't require a degree in engineering, we've kept that simple too.

Paws in. Fasten across the back. And you're ready to go.

The Cradle has been developed and fitted on dogs of all shapes and sizes — from tiny Chihuahuas and Dachshunds to Cockapoos, Spaniels, Labradors and Golden Retrievers — before being put into production.

It's available in seven sizes and a growing collection of D&H colours, made from the same soft leather, solid fittings and traditional craftsmanship that have defined Dogs & Horses for twenty years.
