About
In 2006, we set upon a mission to create the finest leather dog collars and leads in the world. We would design and make the products ourselves in Great Britain*. Where our competitors outsource overseas, often using the cheapest materials and labour, we anticipated that discerning dog owners would choose handmade artisan craftsmanship with quality materials instead. After all, our bottom line is your dog's safety and security - and making sure they look fabulous at the same time.
*In 2025 we launched our European workshop and distribution centre to adapt to the changing business landscape because of the UK's withdrawal from the European Union.

Collaborations
In 2010, we had the honour of collaborating with jeweller Nicholas James of Hatton Garden in the creation of one of the most spectacular dog collars ever made, anywhere.

This was completed on behalf of the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home's 150th anniversary celebrations. The collar featured "five brushed silver studs engraved with the charity's initials and logo, plus an 18ct yellow gold stud inset with 30 pave diamonds." (pbw news, Nov 2010).
Extra security was assigned to the workshop. Men in black suits whispering into their lapels – that kind of thing. It was surreal (the story gets better every year we tell it..).
With a retail value of £2K, the collar reportedly sold at auction for many times that amount. Which was great news for Battersea - and made us feel very pleased indeed to have been part of something so special (although we’re not allowed to say who the lucky dog was that got the collar).
Film & Television
We have worked closely with set decorators and props masters to provide accessories for their projects exactly as required. Because of our long experience and expertise in leather craftsmanship and kitting out dogs, we are likewise able to offer our consultation and guidance to your project.

Kingsman: The Secret Service x D&H
We were thrilled when our leather dog collars and leads took a 'lead role' in the British-made 2014 blockbuster film, Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Supporting roles went to Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Samuel L. Jackson and Taron Egerton.

In the news
Here are a few editorial 'cuttings' to amuse.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty with fox red Labrador Nova touring No.10 Downing Street. Nova is wearing a D&H bespoke padded leather dog collar and matching lead in Navy with brass fittings.

UK entrepreneur James Middleton (brother to Catherine, the Princess of Wales) with his Cocker Spaniels - and D&H rolled soft leather slip leads resting on the bench - you can just see the leads next to his hand. Credit: Jooney Woodward, Telegraph Magazine 2019
