Twenty Years of Dogs & Horses — and a New Chapter in Europe

This year, Dogs & Horses turns twenty.

We started in London in 2006 with a fairly simple idea: to make beautiful things for dogs from proper leather, using traditional skills and materials, and to make them well enough to last.

Quite a lot has happened since.

Over the years our collars and leads have travelled with us to horse trials, country shows, game fairs and almost 15 Crufts dog shows. We've made pieces for some rather famous dogs, collaborated with some extraordinary names including the Selfridges x Disney Christmas windows, and sent D&H collars and leads to customers — and their dogs — all over the world.

But through all of that, remarkably little has changed about the way we make things. Good leather. Solid fittings. Skilled hands. Made properly.

Our twentieth year does, however, mark the beginning of an important new chapter.

Earlier this year we launched Dogs & Horses Europe, with our new workshop and European distribution centre. It means we can make and send D&H products within the EU — without the customs complications, unexpected import charges and general palaver that followed Brexit.

And we're not simply bringing twenty years of D&H to Europe. We're making something new here too.

This September, we'll introduce the first major new D&H design of our twentieth-anniversary year: a completely new leather dog harness.

We've spent a rather long time developing it, fitting it and occasionally arguing about it.

We think it was worth it.

Coming September 2026.
